Sam & Twitch, Cogliostro, Violator, and of course Angela. What made the comics great was the rest of the cast. At least in the beginning stages in which this comic was meant to take place (shortly after issue 9 I believe?) I'll admit, while a fan of the original Spawn comics, the character Spawn was less of a troubled adult focusing on the boundaries of good and evil and more of a teen overblown with angst. All in all a three-star volume, but I think one would have to be a serious NG fan or a fan of the Mcfarlane Spawn series. There is also an additional story about Angela fighting a pirate version of Spawn and some cool alternate cover art. But the story plus the art were exactly what I expected. The story itself is a two-star, even NG can only do so much with this plot. Exiled from heaven and on the run from her fellow angels, she turns to Spawn for help. In this story, she has been set up by someone to take the fall for a crime she did not commit.

She has run into the Spawn that we know and found him to be different. It's the story of Angela, an Angel that hunts Spawns, yes as in plural. While by no means is this a great comic, it is good for what it is. Thus, I freely admit, the only reason I bought this volume from the used comic store was that I noticed these stories had been written by Neil Gaiman. While I did appreciate the art style of Todd McFarlane's "Spawn" series, I was never that big a fan of the story itself.
